MA-1 D-TEC, the innovator reborn

Alpha’s core model, the MA-1 flight jacket, is well-known and loved worldwide. The further developed version of this is the MA-1 D-TEC series, which is one of the most popular jackets.

During the use of the MA-1, it became clear to the designers what changes would be viable and what the jacket users needed, which is how a hood was added to the D-TEC models, removable along with the inner lining. Thus, we can say it is two-in-one, as we simultaneously get a basic MA-1 jacket and a sporty, edgy, and youthful D-TEC model.

Due to its cut, the jacket fits and follows the body shape exceptionally well. The knitted cuffs on the arms and waistline are designed to keep the warmth inside the jacket as much as possible. Of course, the outer part of the D-TEC jackets also received a 100% nylon coating, so they won't soak through in rainy weather.

On the front of the jacket, on the chest area, there is a velcro-removable Alpha logo. We can place any other patch in its place, as such insignias are now available separately.

In Alpha's collections, the selection is expanded with new models every year, mainly through rethought basic models. This is how the idea of the D-TEC Blood Chit was born. The designers wanted to display the informative text found inside the jackets of American soldiers in a clearly visible place. The inscription inside the jackets of soldiers serving abroad contains a request for help formulated in the language of the given country. In our previous article, we wrote in detail about this important military tool that saved the lives of many people. Now, this text is displayed in a clearly visible place on the outside of the jacket by Alpha's designers.

Alpha also thought of those who prefer leather-effect materials in their wardrobe. The D-TEC FL, made with a quality faux leather exterior, exudes a cool, biker feeling. The jacket was also made from genuine leather, but its hood is made of fur material rather than cotton.

In the 2018 collection, the D-TEC basic model was further varied, resulting in the Puffer OS in three colours. These jackets, spiced up with a quilted pattern similar to puffer jackets, fit excellently into the wardrobe of young people.

Finally, but probably not lastly, we mention the D-TEC SE models, on which the Alpha Industries lettering received a very prominent appearance. For all variants, the base colour of the jacket is black, while the inscriptions and accessories appeared on the jacket with vibrant colours. The use of lime or orange colours is particularly interesting, as they are truly eye-catching.
