NASA is taking increasingly robust steps to ensure humanity can step onto the surface of Mars. As a precursor to this, the Viking mission in 1976 was the first to launch with the goal of landing on the surface of the red planet, beginning to study its atmosphere and composition, and sending images back to Earth.

The historic event took place on July 20, 1976, when the Viking 1 lander signaled back to NASA that it had reached the Martian surface and successfully landed on the planet. Thanks to Viking 1, we could see the Martian red rocky landscape for the first time, and later NASA received a huge amount of information and high-resolution photos, the processing of which took a lot of time, but provided immense knowledge for later expeditions and the creation of the program planned for the 2030s to send humans to Mars.
Alpha Industries' Viking collection commemorates the 40th anniversary of this momentous event. The front of the Spirit of Viking sweaters features a huge image—specifically the photo that the Viking 1 unit was among the first to send back to Earth. Furthermore, the silhouette of the landing module also appears on the picture.
For those who do not like large markings and images on their clothing, we recommend the Viking models, which are available in hooded and crewneck versions in three colors.

In the case of the Viking Pioner Hoody, the focus has shifted to the back of the sweater, featuring a prominent inscription detailing the expedition indicators and the NASA badge.
Finally, we introduce the Viking Superstar model of the series, which can be purchased in both hooded and crewneck versions. The front of these models features a photo of the VIKING 1 lander evoking the design world of the 1970s, indicating the monumental feat achieved during this expedition regarding the future of humanity.
