A tribute to space flight – MA-1 VF NASA jacket

Through space flight, humanity has crossed the Earth's boundaries and looked into the depths of space. The USA was one of the superpowers that did a lot to make this possible. NASA, as the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the world's largest space research organization, has already conquered the entire solar system with its space probes.

Alpha Industries, as one of the clothing suppliers to the US military and manufacturer of outerwear for American pilots, pays tribute to the work of NASA with a special series to mark the 100th flight of the space shuttle.

On October 11, 2000, the American Space Shuttle left Earth's atmosphere with seven astronauts on board, and on October 24, the Discovery space shuttle returned safely to Edwards Air Force Base. In connection with this event, Alpha Industries placed a special patch on its MA-1 VF NASA jackets.

Alpha Industries began producing MA-1 jackets based on a military contract won in 1963, using a design developed in the 1950s. The jackets are lined with a striking orange fabric, which has not only aesthetic but also functional reasons. The color of the lining can save a pilot's life in the event of an accident, as their reversed jacket is visible from afar in any environment.

In addition to the usual black, sage green, and replica blue colors, the manufacturer has also created a truly unique white piece. On this model, the anniversary patch on the right chest and the NASA logo on the left chest immediately stand out. On the upper part of the left shoulder, above the indispensable red zipper pull with the inscription Remove Before Flight, is a patch decorated with the American flag.
